“April is Grilled Cheese Month” #21: Woman of LaMancha and Flame-Crafted Ham

The Lady and I fell in love with goat milk cheese when The Lady met Rhonda Gothberg of Gothberg Farms on Facebook. Prior to Rhonda’s wonderful cheeses delighting us, The Lady and I pretty much liked only Midnight Moon, a goat Gouda from Cypress Grove Chevre (using in our grilled cheese creation on April 13)… after the “incident” with the vile hard goat cheddar, I feared goat milk cheese invading the manse.

Today, we decided to make a grilled cheese using Rhonda’s Woman of LaMancha, so named after the goats who provide the milk, and team it with F.G. Meyer’s Flame Crafted Ham. At holiday time, Fred Meyer, turns on the blow-torch and flames their Private Selection Ham (crusted with brown sugar and spices) and delivers what they call “Possibly the best ham you’ll ever taste” (TM)… The Man says, “they got that right”… With Easter* this Sunday, you can buy the delicious ham this week and get a coupon for $10.00 off. The Lady brought one home last night (the ham… not the coupon)… The Man and I love The Lady best… but enough about feelings, let’s get to the grilled cheese…

Ingredients:

Marbled Rye

Golden Glen Creamery Farmstead Butter

Gothberg Farms’ Woman of LaMancha

F.G. Meyer’s Flame Crafted Ham
