Le Roule Cranberry Log

The Lady and The Man have decided that 2012 is The Year of “Let’s Torture The Cat”. The cage comes out and I know that the long, tortuous road trip north to Seattle is about to begin… I love The Lady dearly, but she sure can’t take a hint: I hide under the bed; I hide behind the living room couch; I even hide in the back of her closet and yet, she captures me and puts me in that box with bars, all the while cooing and telling me how much she loves me and “What a Good Boy” I am… what a load of humankind… well, you know… but I digress…

On the last trip, no doubt to appease me, The Lady returned from the Cheese Mines one evening with a rolled log of French heaven: Le Roule Cranberry Log. This is a superior French Cream Cheese rolled much like a jelly roll and filled with chopped cranberries.

It’s “luscious” as Miss Anne would say… spreadable, rich and creamy. It’s perfect as an appetizer or dessert. I’m pretty sure you can eat this alone and die a happy turophile…

I give Le Roule Cranberry Log 3 Paws out of 4 Paws (cause that’s all I’ve got).

Serving Suggestions: Sitting on top of a sweet cracker or shortbread would be perfect. Anne’s Ginger Thins (not to be confused with The Miss Anne) are favorites around The Manse and we use them with dessert-type cheeses like Crave Brothers Mascarpone and Stilton with Fruit Cheeses.

Wine Pairing: The Lady suggests a bubbling to lift the cream off the palate… works for me… what do I know… around The Manse, this Feline Foodie is not allowed any adult-type beverages… sheesh…. humankinds… such a “we have to protect you from yourself” mentality…

Beer Pairing: A Fruit Beer should be a fine choice.
