Fred Meyer Graduates First Class of Murray’s Red Jacket Certified Cheesemongers!!!
It’s no secret… The Kroger Company and Murray’s have been spreading the curd across the US for several years now… and their curd arrived in Portland on June 3rd at the Fred Meyer Burlingame Store. As part of the ongoing training of the Murray’s Cheesemongers, The Lady and Summer, from Murray’s Grand Central Station Store, taught Red Jacket Training the past two days to the Portland ‘Mongers.
Red Jacket Training is an intense two-day course that takes the ‘Mongers through an exhaustive study of cheese, history, chemistry and lots of fun tastings.
At the end of the course, a 50 question test is admisistered with a required 80% to pass and earn the right to wear the coveted Red Jacket.
13 ‘Mongers showed up to take the course and 13 ‘Mongers walked out proudly wearing their red jackets.
Woohoo!!! And congratulations to all!!! The Lady was so proud that I noticed a catch in her throat and a couple of tears in her eyes… she claimed it was allergies… but I know better…
