Meet Debbie Simon, Murray’s Cheese Master at the Harper Point’s Kroger on Montgomery Road in Cincinnati, Ohio. Debbie joined the Kroger Company in 2010 and after just a few months found herself leading the Cheesemongers at Harper’s Point.
Debbie is the single mother of 19 year-old twin boys and in addition to cheese, she loves chocolate. Debbie also enjoys reading, scrapbooking and cooking.
She lives in a diverse community and enjoys the different cultures.
Here are some thoughts Debbie had when we sat down to chat:
“If I were a cheese I would be an aged Gouda because I like things that get better with age, there are so many fascinating nuances to this type of cheese, and I can be intense and surprising!”
“If I could spend a day with a cheese maker it would be with the owners and cheesemakers at Rogue Creamery. I would love to see and learn the art of crafting a phenomenal cheese.”
Deb’s favorite grilled cheese: “
Cave age Gruyere, Murray’s fresh Mozzarella, Tillamook Extra Sharp Cheddar…We call it the triple threat toasted cheese… A must try!”
Her historical dinner companion would be Author Virginia Woolf who loved to describe food; “One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.”
