I have been tasting and using these four California Fig Spreads sent to me by Valley Fig. Orchard Choice is their new line of fig spreads and they are the figgiest spreads I have tasted in a long time (and I taste and use a lot of fig spreads).

Here are a few of the ways I used these spreads this month to commemorate #SpreadTheLove:

I featured the Orange Fig Spread in a January review of Salt Spring Island Flowered Fresh Chevre. The sweet, citrus notes of the spread paired naturally with the tart, citrus notes of the cheese.

I made a Chocolate Chip cheesecake using the Organic Fig Spread as a swirl on top. It tasted amazing despite not being as “pretty” as I would prefer.

Citrus Ginger with Port Wine Fig Spread

Ooey-gooey Marieke Gouda and Orange Fig Spread

I made a ooey-gooey grilled cheese and paired it with the Orange Fig Spread.

Reviews of those cheeses and the tastings will be featured in the upcoming American Cheese Society Newsletter “Cheese Bytes”. You can read my Marieke Gouda profile online at the ACS Website.
