Judy Creighton ACS CCP™ Bio
My husband and I owned the 2nd cheese shop in San Francisco in 1978, called The 6th Avenue Cheese Shop. At that time Brie was a rare cheese. Then we opened Creighton’s Cheese & Fine Foods in 1983 followed by Creighton’s American Bakery in 1988. Quite an adventure!
When I “retired” in 2002, my life got even cheesier with classes and consulting. I was the founding instructor at Cheese School of San Francisco in 2006 and I taught all the classes the first year. I opened the cheese market at Lavender Ridge in 2008 in the Sierra Foothills.
I served on the board of the California Artisan Cheese Guild, 2009-2013 and was hired as the first Guild Admin Assistant to the Guild. My life is full of private cheese and wine tastings in local wineries.
Taking the first CCP exam in 2012 was a culmination of so many experiences. My goal: spread the joy of cheese in the world!
My thanks to everyone participating in my 2015 Virtual Q&A with Cheese Professionals. I hope all of you, my loyal readers, are enjoying this as much as I am…
Interviews will continue throughout 2015… sometimes, they will be “stand-alone” and sometimes they will be presented as round-table discussions with several Cheese Professionals answering the same question. Those participating include Cheesemakers, ACS CCPs™, Cheesemongers and Cheese Professionals and Experts who contribute to this Wonderful World we call “Cheese”.
