Havarti

It’s hard to believe but until recently I had never eaten Havarti, a semi-soft, mild cheese from Denmark. This cheese is excellent for melting and often has flavors added. Because it is so mild when you add flavors… well… it gives this cheese… flavor.

Alone, this cheese is just too mild even for my sensitive feline taste buds; but when you throw in some jalapenos… it’s doable…

I give Havarti 3 Paws out of 4 Paws (cause that’s all I’ve got…)

Serving Suggestions: Grilled cheese with ham and lots of mustard added; cheese toast; as 1 cheese in a 3 cheese mac n cheese.

Wine Pairing: A sweet Riesling

Beer Pairing: A hoppy pilsner

Source: Pasteurized Cow Milk
