Pepperlane Jams

PepperlaneRecipeBookFrontCoverWhen in Parker, Colorado, I discovered a line of jams made in Utah by a family-owned company. I brought home several flavors; The Man and I have enjoyed them over the last several months. The Cat was never a jam kind of connoisseur, so even though they were on his list of reviews to write, this omission can be understood and excused…

The first jam in the line-up was also the one that Owner, Michele Trover, first made for her family in the 80s – Jalapeno Preserves. Sweet and spicy with a light kick from the jalapenos, this preserve is a mixture of jalapenos and sweet bell peppers. It’s perfect for those who like more sweet than kick… like The Man. In addition to topping toast and bagels, I also used this jam as a glaze on grilled chicken and it was a hit. I also made cornbread that day and it added just the right flavor with the cornbread (made with grilled corn off-the-cob).

The second jam was Pepp’ ricot which is the original jam with apricots added to the mixture. I used this on a pork loin and The Man swooned… even The Cat enjoyed this spicy pork.

Next up is Raz-Pepper; a mixture of the original jam with raspberries. This is my favorite, being a raspberry nut… the two flavors collide to create an amazing “sweet meets heat”. We topped a cheesecake with this preserve… party in your mouth…

The fourth flavor I brought home was another favorite of The Man – The Blackberry Buzz. I barely got a taste of this one… The Man took possession and that was all he wrote…

In addition to being delicious, the presentation is impressive with a cloth square on top; so cool.

If you can’t find these in your local specialty food shop, you can order them online at the Pepperlane website. You can also order their cookbook, which is featured above.

These jams definitely deserve 4 Paws…
