Outback’s Blue Cheese Wedge Salad

Outback Steakhouse on Urbanspoon
The Lady hasn’t been inside an Outback Steakhouse in the last decade until last week in Louisville. One was almost next door to her hotel and she stopped in after a long day in the cheese mines for a burger and salad.

Blue cheese wedge salads are a favorite of The Lady and The Man… so… when The Lady saw one on the Outback menu, she couldn’t resist ordering it and substituting it for fries with her Cheddar Cheese Burger..

The wedge was huge with lots of blue cheese dressing and blue cheese crumbles. Also garnishing the wedge were grape tomatoes, slices of Bermuda onion and a drizzle of a balsamic vinegar reduction.

As the picture here shows, Outback sources their blue cheese from a World Cheese Champion Winner who makes the cheese on a secluded Danish Island. The Lady’s Cheese Swell Friend, Adam Moskowitz, suggested it is St. Clemens Danish Blue which won World Cheese Championship awards in 1980 and again in 1998.

This salad was the bomb… in fact so good, The Lady went back a second time and then when she returned home on Friday, she and The Man stopped at the Outback at the Vancouver Mall… and yep… you got it… had the Blue Cheese Wedge Salad for a third time in a week…

To add to its enjoyment, in Louisville, if you order it separately, it’s only $4.99 and in Vancouver $5.49… at either price it’s amazing quality.

The Lady asked to borrow my Paws yet again… as Outback is another one of those pesky “No Pets Allowed” establishments… and she gives The Classic Blue Cheese Wedge Salad 4 Paws out of 4 Paws (cause that’s all I’ve got to walk on and to lend…).
