Jane Bauer, ACS Education and Outreach Manager Bio
I think I’ve had cheese every day of my life. My family always had cheese in the house and we’d often have it for dessert. So my love of cheese goes back many decades!
I realized I was a cheese geek back in the 80’s when I started taking tasting notes about the various cheeses I had eaten. At the time, I didn’t know the nuances of the cheeses, all I knew was that I loved what I was tasting, and I wanted to keep track of what I liked about each cheese.
I am honored to work for the American Cheese Society. As the Education and Outreach Manager, I oversee all aspects of the ACS Certified Cheese Professional® Exam program. My typical day varies depending on the time of year. During the winter and spring, I review applications from cheese professionals interested in taking the next CCP® Exam, and I work closely with a team of industry leaders to review and grow the exam content. As we get closer to exam time, I frequently talk with applicants and work with the Certification Committee to prepare for exam day.
