Thirteen Years… Still Crazy After All These Years…

Spaulding dictating his cheese review

Thirteen years ago today Spaulding Gray and I wrote our first blog posting announcing our love for Cheese, Glorious Cheese. The first cheese review was No Woman, Spaulding Gray’s favorite cheese. The beefy flavors of the Jamaican jerk spices may have been what attracted him, but every time I brought it home, he went crazy as though I were packing catnip.

From August 6, 2008 to September 2013, Spaulding Gray was the voice of this website; reviewing cheeses; sharing cheese news, all with his trademark snarkiness which drove the Kroger suits (my employers) crazy. They could not tame him, despite their best efforts… after all, Spaulding Gray did not work for Kroger.

Spaulding Gray, The Feline Foodie

Upon his return to the Mothership, I took over the reins of the website and channeled a lot of my energy into creating educational tools for anyone wanting to increase their cheese IQ and particularly those studying for the ACS CCP Exam.

In 2014, The Man and I came to NE Georgia to care for my aging parents and following their passings, settled into life in a town with only one traffic light. Other than the humidity of the summers, the weather is ideal, the people are amazing and life is “practically perfect”.

Today, I continue the website, stage cheese events, stock two small refrigerators with cut and wrapped cheese at Sweet Combs of Honey in downtown Lavonia and caretake nine stray cats, four of which think they are in charge…

Here’s to 13 or more years…

The Man, aka Peter M. Wright, has written his first novel: Gold Fever, available at amazon.com as a kindle book for only $2.99.

Written in the flavor of one of our favorite movies, Romancing the StoneGold Fever is a romantic adventure that brings together an archeologist looking to establish his name in his field and a rock star on the verge of burn-out.

In GOLD FEVER  an Archeologist motivated by a newly discovered clue, searches for a fabled Native American Legend – the long ago lost Seven Golden Cities of Cibola. While the Archeologist seeks to prove the legend is actually true, he is constantly under attack by a second group seeking the treasure.
