My “Everyday” Cheeses 2021

Bonati Parmigiano Reggiano

Several years ago I wrote an article here titled something like Everyday Cheeses. The reason I don’t remember the exact title is that I decided to write about what cheeses I keep in my refrigerator now for “everyday” use. I thought, after I write this updated list, it would be fun to see if the list has changed and how it changed. (Link to old list is above – I won’t “peek” until I publish this list.)

Comte AOP

Because of the Pandemic, many of us are cooking more. At The Manse, more meals include cheese than ones that don’t.

So… here are the cheeses I keep on hand and consider my “everyday” cheeses:

  1. Cheddar – currently in my fridge (and yes, I have a cheese fridge) – Tillamook, Cabot and Flagship.
  2. Alpine – currently I have LeGruyere. I usually have Comte but it’s been hard to find around here the last year.
  3. Gouda – Rembrandt and Parrano
  4. Parmigiano Reggiano and Sarvecchio
  5. Mozzarella – Sometimes, Burrata
  6. Blue – Oregon Blue, at the moment. Sometimes, I have Asher Blue and sometimes, Clemson.
  7. Feta and Chevre – these are for salads
  8. Pimento Cheese – Miss Anne’s recipe
Rogue Creamery Blue Cheeses

I have lots of other cheeses in my fridge, many are backstock for my shop but the above are the ones I use and keep for The Man and me to eat regularly.

All of these cheeses can be purchased online at my amazon influencer storefront. I have created an “Everyday Cheese” section with links to cheeses in these categories.

In addition to being a member of the Internationale Guilde des Fromagers (Jura and Garde) and an American Cheese Society Certified Cheese Professional, I am a Certified ServSafe Food Production Manager. I sample specialty artisan cheeses  most Fridays or Saturdays at Sweet Combs of Honey: Check out my “Grab n Go” page at Facebook for more information.

The Man, aka Peter M. Wright, has written his first novel: Gold Fever, available at amazon.com as a kindle book for only $2.99.

Written in the flavor of one of our favorite movies, Romancing the StoneGold Fever is a romantic adventure that brings together an archeologist looking to establish his name in his field and a rock star on the verge of burn-out.

In GOLD FEVER  an Archeologist motivated by a newly discovered clue, searches for a fabled Native American Legend – the long ago lost Seven Golden Cities of Cibola. While the Archeologist seeks to prove the legend is actually true, he is constantly under attack by a second group seeking the treasure.
