Laganory from The Ethical Dairy

Earlier this year, I reviewed a cheese board of English cheeses brought to me by my good friends Dawn and Geoff Spink. Dawn recently married Geoff and immigrated to London. Her grand babies are still here in our area and when she comes to spoil them, she brings me a bag of cheeses from Abel and Cole… cheeses not generally available for sale in the US.

Cole and Abel is a grocer in the London area that sells only organic specialty foods and produce. They offer a delivery service for their customers for only L1.99 (less than $5 US), an amazing deal for the customer. Geoff discovered Abel and Cole when a woman knocked on his door and told him about the grocer and its services, including home delivery. If you live in their delivery service, do yourself a favor and check them out. You’re welcome.

In my bag of cheeses were several from The Ethical Dairy. One Geoff had recommended, Laganory. The Man and I recently paired it with Kelly’s Jelly‘s new Cherry Rhubarb Fruit Spread. Laganory is made with raw organic cow’s milk and is vegetarian friendly. The aroma is pungent reminding me of a washed rind although this is a natural rind cheese. The flavors are fruity and earthy with a slightly crumbly texture. The cherry rhubarb spread accentuated the fruity notes and the pairing made The Man swoon. The 34 Degrees crisp added just a bit more texture making for a perfect bite.

At Abel and Cole, Laganory sells for L2.47 per 100 grams.

The Man, aka Peter M. Wright, has written his first novel: Gold Fever, available at amazon.com as a kindle book for only $2.99.

Written in the flavor of one of our favorite movies, Romancing the StoneGold Fever is a romantic adventure that brings together an archeologist looking to establish his name in his field and a rock star on the verge of burn-out.

In GOLD FEVER  an Archeologist motivated by a newly discovered clue, searches for a fabled Native American Legend – the long ago lost Seven Golden Cities of Cibola. While the Archeologist seeks to prove the legend is actually true, he is constantly under attack by a second group seeking the treasure.

The Man is currently writing a sequel to Gold Fever. Gold Fever and his non-fiction books are available through Amazon’s lending library.
